Tackling the “new normal” in unprecedented times. How KPN’s social series Rare Tijden uses humor to lighten the work-from-home fatigue during COVID.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, having an Internet connection became more important than ever before. Yet, most of our sweet home offices were not equipped for this new way of working. And with bad Internet grew our frustrations: freezing, being on mute or unmuted, and randomly exiting meetings – all could have been solved with a stable connection. KPN wanted to come in and save people’s day – without monetizing misery, of course.
We showcase the everyday struggles that came with the ‘new normal’ of everyone who’s (not) tired of working and connect with them through uplifting entertainment, infused with some good old satire.
In comes Rare Tijden: a lighthearted, humorous social series centered around the daily lives of 5 colleagues stuck in their home offices and more closely, in perpetual video calls. And to make it even more business-official, we aired the series on LinkedIn, proving that anyone at any time and place can always use a little bit of good humour. And hopefully, our viewers all tuned in with a good (KPN) Internet connection.
