KPN
TikTok Talkshow
KPN’s TikTokTalkshow, the first live show on TikTok by Gen Z for Gen Z, tackles cyberbullying, online discrimination, and loneliness. Experts offer valuable advice, fostering dialogue and support with a launch during Mental Health Month.
Challenge
Youth today face increasing mental health challenges
yet often struggle to find support (source: Youth Monitor CBS). While discussions about them abound, direct engagement with them remains insufficient. Despite their inclination to share online, there's a notable absence of a secure digital haven where GenZers can freely converse about their concerns.
Approach
give the younger generation(s) the same stage as the ones created on television
Being one of the biggest Dutch telecom providers, KPN introduces the TikTokTalkshow: the first live talkshow on TikTok by and for GenZ. An initiative to provide a stage for twenty-somethings to discuss topics affecting their online lives such as cyberbullying, online discrimination and loneliness. All topics are gathered and chosen with a Gen Z panel and discussed at the table with Gen Z host Robbert Rodenburg.
Solution
The TikTokTalkshow: a platform where young people can openly discuss topics affecting their online lives
By utilizing TikTok, a platform popular among Gen Z, and involving them in topic selection and hosting, the project ensures authenticity and relevance. It acknowledges the importance of supporting and engaging with young people in digital spaces, ultimately fostering awareness and dialogue around crucial issues impacting their daily lives.
